Robotic and Urological surgeon

Dr Nestor Lalak is the most senior experienced Urological Surgeon based in South West Sydney. He is currently the Chair on the RACS Board of Urology and Chair of the Hospital Post Accreditation Subcommittee. Dr Lalak graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1988. After completing his internship and residency, Nestor completed a surgical research year in vascular surgery and obtained a Master of Surgery degree. Throughout his training he has gained experience in general, vascular, cardiovascular, upper GI, neurosurgery, and colorectal surgery, completing his urology training in 2000 after a yearlong fellowship at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Nestor is one of the few Australian Urologists to have been awarded a preceptorship in Robotics and Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA which is one of the largest Urological Centres in USA. Having completed all required accredited training, Nestor has now been offering and performing Robotic Surgery for many years.

Nestor has been involved in the teaching of Urology Registrars, Residents, Interns and Medical Students. He has given talks to the local General Practitioners to further their education in Urological management of common conditions. Nestor has organised and been actively involved in Mens Health education and with Mens Health Month in November in the Southern Highlands for the last seven years.

Nestor endeavours to provide his patients with timely, precise and personable care. His approachable nature and disposition to assist others has shaped his ability to provide the quality care that he strives for.
